01.  Many mouthpieces available commercially promise a “high accuracy of fit”. So what is the difference between the Secudive®-mouthpiece and other commercially available products?
Accuracy of fit is relative. Dentures too can fit "reasonably well” or “perfectly”. Only during longer wear and in use will the difference become evident. Without noticing one constantly chews on the mouthpiece. Simply because, intuitively, one is always looking for the right fit. And all this chewing and biting results in tension in the entire jaw and neck musculature.

02.  I am planning to replace my regulator, but naturally want to keep my Secudive mouthpiece. Is the installation difficult?
No, generally the mouthpiece will fit the new regulator. We can also offer an adjustment service, contact us for details. Then nothing has to come between you and your new mouthpiece.

03.  I have a slightly older regulator and sometimes struggle to find spare parts for it. Will the Secudive®- mouthpiece also fit on old regulators?
This is one of the mouthpiece’s many advantages. We manufacture it just for you and nobody else. So it won’t just fit your oral cavity perfectly, but also your regulator. You tell us the model and type, we will do the rest. Then you have the certainty that your new mouthpiece will also fit your regulator.

04.  You mention “tension-free diving” in your brochure – what exactly do you mean?
You know the mild or intensifying pressure on any part of the palate. One tries to get rid of this unpleasant sensation by biting or chewing. With the Secudive®-mouthpiece having an exacting custom fit, many users even report a “floating“ sensation. This means: The mouthpiece is not felt, it is unnoticeable and thus the dives can be enjoyed fully. And that this increases safety and eliminates fears is more than just a side effect.

05.  The ordering process seems a bit complicated?
Not at all. You simply order your Secudive®-mouthpiece by selecting your desired colour and stating your regulator's details. So that you don’t simply receive a mouthpiece from the drawer but your own unique specimen which will fit only you, we now simply require a plaster cast of your jaw. Your dentist will do this quickly and easily. It then goes into the dispatch box and off to Secudive. Admittedly: We can’t eliminate the visit to the dentist. But when you buy a tailor-made suit you also have to go for a fitting.

06.  How well-tolerated is the mouthpiece?
This is one of the major advantages of your Secudive®-mouthpiece. We only use high-quality materials which have been used reliably in dental technology for years. And as dental technicians we are aware of the compatibility with the mucous membrane inside the mouth. Thus we ensure that absolutely no harmful substances are released. Unlike many products off the shelf, this is something Secudive guarantees.

07.  I want to place a large order for my club. Will this affect pricing? And what about shipping?
If you want to order several mouthpieces please email us for pricing.

08.  Does the Secudive®-mouthpiece come with a warranty?
Unfortunately we cannot give a standard warranty on the Secudive®-mouthpiece as it is custom made to manufacturing specifications not made by us (models created by the dentist). Thus you need to pay extra attention to ensure that the models are an exact representation of your oral cavity. You will find suggestions regarding this on our homepage. As our experience however has shown that, when used appropriated and cleaned and disinfected thoroughly after every holiday, nothing should stand in the way of use over many years, we offer a three year warranty against biting through the biting surface.

09.  How do I clean my Secudive®-mouthpiece?
The best way to clean your Secudive®-mouthpiece is with a toothbrush and some washing-up liquid. Abrasive cleaners will dull the surface. If you want to use toothpaste it should not contain any abrasive agents. For disinfection we recommend our disinfectant which reliably kills bacteria and fungi.

10.  Will the Secudive®- mouthpiece also fit on other regulators?
No. Every Secudive®-mouthpiece is custom-made to fit the regulator indicated. If you change regulators you also have to have a new mouthpiece made. But you might be able to find a regulator which has the same mouthpiece connection. We are not liable if the mouthpiece is connected to an unsuitable regulator.

11.  How is the Secudive®-mouthpiece connected to the regulator?
Your Secudive®-mouthpiece will be delivered with detailed instructions, enabling you to attach the Secudive®-mouthpiece to your regulator without any problems.

12.  What happens in the case of valve sharing?
Valve sharing with an individual Secudive®-mouthpiece can be done in the same way as with a standard mouthpiece. The individual Secudive®-mouthpiece is so flexible that it will adapt to the situation. Of course there will be no user comfort, but in this exceptional situation that is of little importance.

13.  I wear dental prostheses; standard mouthpieces sometimes make me feel uneasy when diving.
Removable prostheses are usually held in the mouth mechanically by clasps. An individual Secudive®-mouthpiece supports the effectiveness of the clasps by fitting exactly between the rows of teeth and thus preventing slippage of the prosthesis. Divers with a complete prosthesis should contact us.
